At RS Law, we believe that access to justice should not depend solely upon a person’s financial means. Alongside our work for private clients, we have established a pro bono legal representation initiative in Pakistan to assist deserving individuals who cannot afford legal advice or representation.
The initiative is intended to support people facing serious legal difficulties who might otherwise be left without a voice. This includes:
- Prisoners and accused persons who do not have legal representation;
- Individuals whose continued incarceration may require legal review;
- Families without the financial means to protect or enforce their rights; and
- Vulnerable individuals who cannot afford to pursue or defend legal proceedings.
RS Law is actively working to identify incarcerated individuals who may require legal assistance. As part of this work, we are obtaining and reviewing relevant information through the office of the Inspector General of Prisons, Punjab. Suitable matters are assessed individually, and where there is a genuine need and the case falls within our expertise and capacity, the firm may provide legal advice or representation without charge.
However, official records cannot reveal every case of genuine hardship. Families, community representatives, lawyers, social workers and other concerned individuals may be aware of prisoners or vulnerable persons whose circumstances have not otherwise come to our attention.
If you know of someone in Pakistan who is facing a serious legal difficulty and cannot afford representation, we invite you to contact RS Law. Please provide as much relevant information as possible, including the person’s name, location, case details, present circumstances and the assistance required.
This initiative reflects RS Law’s commitment to the rule of law, human dignity and the principle that no deserving person should remain unheard merely because they cannot afford legal representation.
